The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is a national-level apex advisory body established in 1945 to promote and develop technical education in India. It conducts surveys of technical education facilities and aims to foster the development of a coordinated and integrated technical education system. AICTE was granted statutory status by an Act of Parliament in 1987.
